AustralianSuper is Australia’s largest superannuation fund. With A$233 billion ($160 billion) in assets, it manages money on behalf 2.6 million members. The fund is positioning itself for further growth and its operational development includes the management of 50 per cent of inhouse assets and offshore offices in London and New York. The fund’s balanced (default) option has an asset allocation of 21 per cent to Australian equities, 31 per cent to international equities, 1 per cent to listed property, 5 per cent to direct property, 13.5 per cent to infrastructure, 7 per cent private equity, 11 per cent fixed income, 5.5 per cent credit and 6 per cent cash.
It was one of the earliest adopters of infrastructure, and has more than 20 years’ experience in the asset class.
